Observe everything, remember even more.
Hound loves the natural wonders of Earth, prefers it to Cybertron. Brave, fearless, loyal. Secretly desires to be human. Uses turret gun as radar scope, infrared radiation collector. Tracks machines as well as humans. Hologram gun projects 3-dimensional grid laser-light topographical maps. Vulnerable to thermal and electromagnetic interference.

Robot Mode: Hound is a rather typical first-year Transformers toy in that he looks very dashing in robot mode, but has almost no posability. He can move his arms at the shoulders, that's it. Look-wise, though, he's pretty great. Lots of detailing adorns his small body. Hound carries a missile launcher on his shoulder and a rifle in his hand. He can also use the turret gun from his vehicle mode as an additional weapon. So bottom line, a good robot, if more for looking at than playing with.

Alternate Mode: The emphasis of many of the early Transformers toys was the vehicle mode and Hound shows it. The vehicle is a near-perfect miniature of a US Army jeep, complete with military markings and a turret gun in the back. As additional details, Hound can clip on a spare tire and a reserve canister on the back. A very good vehicle mode.

Remarks: Hound was a mainstay of the early Transformers cartoon series, often fooling Decepticons with his ability to generate life-like holograms. The toy is pretty nifty, even though the robot mode is rather boxy and pretty much a brick. Still, among early G1 toys Hound is definitely in the upper class and worth getting for your collection.
