Prelude: Why am I reviewing a plush toy? Okay, granted, it’s a plush toy of a Transformer. A collectible designer plush toy, even, according to the packaging. Still, I’m mostly reviewing it because it was a gift from my buddy James, who developed a kind of perverse pleasure in bombarding me with various Bumblebee toys. So here is DZNR What’s Inside Edition Bumblebee. Let’s say cuddle!
Review: Honestly, it’s a plush toy, what do you expect me to write here? It’s a highly simplified version of Bumblebee, everyone’s favorite yellow Autobot, and it’s for cuddling. And collecting, possibly. The toy is part of DZNR’s What’s Inside Edition, meaning half of him is more or less your standard G1 Bumblebee (just cuter), the other half simulates a look at Bumblebee’s interior design. There is something resembling a spark chamber in the chest and lots of technical details. At the end of the day, though, it’s a plush toy. For cuddling.
The packaging is almost more interesting than the plush toy itself. The interior shows a pretty cool artwork of G1 Bumblebee (in his original, only slightly cute look), which is also cut in half to show his interior design. The outside package has artwork showing the plush toy itself on the back, positioned so that the dividing line between normal and interior look is exactly on the edge of the box. Nicely done.
Bottom line: It’s a plush toy of Bumblebee. One showing his interior design. So if you’re into collecting plush toys of Transformers or simply in need of a cuddle, this one here might be for you.
Rating: it’s a plush toy!
