Ruler of the undersea realms of Eternia, Mer-Man was forced to serve in the armies of Skeletor after his kingdom was destroyed in a battle with rival ocean clans. His allegiance with Skeletor brings him to the surface world more often than he would like. Lurking deep beneath the Sea of Rakash, Mer-Man awaits the evil call to arms of Skeletor!
Review: Mer-Man will always have a special place in my heart for having been the very first Masters of the Universe figure I got way back in 1982. Long before the Filmation cartoon, he appeared a vicious warrior and managed to defeat He-Man twice in two different mini-comics. Once the cartoon started, of course, he became the same kind of inept henchman as all the other bad guys, but by then he was firmly entrenched in my favor.
The Classics figure of Mer-Man is mostly based on the vintage figure, but comes with a separate head resembling 200X Mer-Man. Unlike the vintage figure, he carries a trident in addition to his classic sword to further underscore his aquatic image. His chest harness is, of course, removable.
Bottom line: I love Mer-Man in pretty much all his incarnations, be it objective or not.
